I had the privilege of serving as Artist-in-Residence at Acadia National Park from April 15 – May 6, 2006. Yes, that's a bit early in the season to visit Acadia, but I'm not one to let cool or wet weather slow me down. As it turned out, I think I had an exceptional number of sunny days for early spring.

It took me a while to find to my creative zone. I think I was a little anxious about proving my worthiness of the opportunity. I did a lot of research before I went, trying to target locations that would serve my artistic needs, and I feel it paid off. I covered a lot of territory in my three weeks, but found three or four sites that I visited repeatedly.

The coastline is certainly a spectacular part of the park, and the view from the mountain tops are grand, but there is so much more to Acadia, and I hope my images reflect that.

I'd like to thank Kate Petrie and all the folks with the park service for their help in making my stay a great experience. And I'd like to especially thank my wife for "holding down the fort" in my absence.

Yes, I did have some lobster, crab cakes, wild blueberry pancakes, and I sampled the lobster ice cream.

I hope you enjoy the images.
